Predator: Badlands Dominates UK Box Office! - Movie Review & Analysis (2025)

The box office in the U.K. and Ireland has a new champion: 'Predator: Badlands'! The latest installment in the iconic franchise has roared to the top, dominating the charts and leaving the competition in its wake. According to Comscore, the film raked in a staggering £2.3 million (approximately $3.1 million) during its opening weekend.

Following behind, Sony's "The Choral" took the second spot with $1.2 million. In third place, Paramount's "Regretting You" added $1.04 million to its total, bringing its cumulative gross to an impressive $6.9 million.

Universal's "Bugonia" secured fourth place, earning $723,160 and bringing its total to $2.7 million. Mubi's "Die My Love" debuted in fifth place with $521,574. Disney's "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere" held steady in sixth, adding $437,199 to its total of $4.7 million.

Universal's "Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie" took seventh place, earning $406,590 and bringing its total to $7.4 million. Studiocanal's "I Swear" followed in eighth with $359,605, now standing at $7.3 million.

Paramount's "A Paw Patrol Christmas" opened in ninth place with $329,216, while Sony's "Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc" rounded out the top 10 with $248,872, bringing its total to $3.3 million.

But what about the future? Upcoming releases promise to keep the box office buzzing. Paramount's "The Running Man," directed by Edgar Wright, is set for a wide release across over 300 locations. Trafalgar Releasing will present "J-Hope Tour 'Hope on the Stage' The Movie," the latest BTS concert film. Black Bear is also entering the arena with the folk horror film "Keeper."

CinemaLive will offer "John Cleese Packs It In," a filmed version of the comedy legend's stage show. Lionsgate is set to release "Now You See Me: Now You Don’t," the newest installment in the illusionist caper series. Sony will release "Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution," which is expected to continue anime's box office success, while Studiocanal counters with the courtroom drama "Nuremberg," featuring Russell Crowe and Rami Malek.

Other notable releases include Radiance's rerelease of 1980's "Night of the Juggler" and Munro's Hong Kong drama "Valley of the Shadow of Death." Event screenings will include 4K restorations of "The Wild Geese" and "City on Fire," as well as the concert film "Harley Flanagan: Wired for Chaos." Netflix will contribute "Left-Handed Girl" and "Jay Kelly" to the streaming end of the slate.

Also opening this week are "De De Pyaar De 2" from Yash Raj Films and "Christmas Karma" from True Brit Entertainment. Other titles include Schendel Films' "Tony Foster: Painting at the Edge," Dogwoof's "Predators," Curzon's "Alpha," and Olympic Films' "Park Avenue." Anime Ltd's "100 Meters" is scheduled for a limited Sunday release.
