Marc Marquez Dominates 2025 MotoGP: Fabio Di Giannantonio Owes an Apology for Alien Claims (2025)

Is Marc Marquez still an 'alien'? That's the question on everyone's mind after his stunning performance in the 2025 MotoGP season, especially considering he's now riding for the powerhouse Ducati team. But the real story? It's the dominance Marquez has shown, making his rivals look, well, human.

His primary competitors, including two-time world champion Francesco Bagnaia, the rejuvenated Alex Marquez, and the rising star Fermin Aldeguer, were all expected to challenge for the top spot. But Marquez has blown them all away, even after missing two races due to injury.

Here's a snapshot of the current standings:

| RIDER | TEAM | BIKE | WINS | PODIUMS | PTS |
| :---------- | :------- | :---- | :--- | :------ | :-- |
| M. Marquez | Ducati | GP25 | 25 | 31 | 545 |
| A. Marquez | Gresini | GP24 | 4 | 23 | 413 |
| F. Bagnaia | Ducati | GP25 | 4 | 15 | 286 |
| F. Morbidelli | VR46 | GP24 | 0 | 4 | 227 |
| F. Di Giannantonio | VR46 | GP25 | 0 | 7 | 226 |
| F. Aldeguer | Gresini | GP24 | 1 | 6 | 186 |

Marquez has secured almost three times the number of wins (25) as the rest of the Ducati riders combined (9). He is responsible for 31 of the 86 podium finishes on Desmosedici motorcycles.

Fabio Di Giannantonio, a VR46 rider, made a bold statement last year, suggesting he didn't see a significant difference when studying Marquez, no longer viewing him as an 'alien'. He believed he had closed the gap. But now, with Marquez's incredible performance, it seems Di Giannantonio might owe him an apology.

But here's where it gets controversial... Di Giannantonio, riding a factory-spec GP25, had previously stated he didn't see Marquez as an 'alien'. He saw him as a rival, not unattainable. Fast forward to the present, and Marquez is nearly 350 points ahead, despite injuries, while Di Giannantonio is still searching for his first win on the GP25.

Marquez's move to Ducati also meant Di Giannantonio lost his Gresini seat. He was left in a difficult position, having just signed for a new home.

Di Giannantonio acknowledges Marquez's incredible performance, highlighting his nearly 80% win rate before his title.

And this is the part most people miss... The GP24 seems superior in the hands of most riders, but Marquez has transformed its successor into one of the most dominant motorcycles ever.

So, what do you think? Does Marquez still deserve the 'alien' title? Let me know in the comments!
